Funds for Fundamentals

Funds for Fundamentals is Omega Nu's program to help defray teachers' out-of-pocket expenses for classroom basics. The program just concluded its 4th year. In February 2008, Omega Nu awarded $16,900 to 86 different teachers at 7 local public middle schools in northern Santa Cruz County. The teachers used the grants for basic classroom supplies including art supplies, printer ink and copy costs, science equipment, grade appropriate literature, math games and a wide variety of other things designed to enhance the curricula.

Teachers from Aptos Junior High, Shoreline, San Lorenzo Valley, Branciforte, Mission Hill, Scotts Valley and New Brighton Middle Schools received funds in 2008.
